Terry Crews of Brooklyn 99 gives the best advice on physical fitness.
Seriously, his Reddit AMAis the most genuinely upbeat, positive actor interview ever. Another great bit:
To be honest, this was the healthiest advice for getting into working out I’ve ever read, and it really was the inspiration for me to start running and going to the gym.
No judgement, no “you need to be doing this” mess. Just a simple “do what you can. and feel comfortable”
Snowball Fight
I get my mischievous tendencies from my mom. It takes me the time to finish the Snowpal to come up with an evil plan. It involves distracting Dad, then shoving a handful of snow into his face.
It’s hilarious, and it leads to an immediate snowball fight. Apparently, I declared war, you see.
A Peculiar Snowpal
Dad and I have never ever seen snow before. Don’t blame us for making a wonky snowpal.
What matters is, we have an awesome father-daughter moment. Right?
First Blizzard
As usual, when the twins are at school and mom is at work, it’s just Dad and I. And seeing today’s weather, we decide to hop on a quick trip to Willow Creek… and we’re greeted with more than we asked for. We’ve barely passed the town’s frontier that it turns out we drove into a blizzard.
Far from discouraged, we head to the Willow Creek park. We’ve wanted to see snow for too long to be deterred by a little wind!
And it’s so worth it.
Frosted Windows
I wake up one morning and the windows are covered in frost.
I’ve never seen snow before, but I have a good feeling about today.
Below Zero
Mom brought an odd machine back from the lab where she works. She says, if she upgrades it enough, she might help us feel less cold outside.
I think Mom’s becoming a bit of a mad scientist. Dad maybe has a little too much trust in her talents. He tries to do his daily yoga outside — and nearly freezes to death.
Don’t wear shorts outside in the winter, Dad.
At least, this chimney is fast to come in handy.
Cold Mornings
It’s started. The glacial morning air and the time for big sweaters and scarves. And hats, don’t forget the hats.
Mom is installing a brand new chimney in our living room. She whistles as she works, saying that way we’ll keep warm without getting electricity bills that make you want to freeze to death. Dad says she’s mostly hoping for Santa to visit, and he won’t if we don’t have that chimney.
The house is transformed inside and out, and the pale winter sun highlights it with its dull glow.
Goodbye Fall
When I come back to Newcrest, we have left autumn for good, and stepped into winter. Time to dig out new types of seasonal decorations, burn the last leaves, and get in the holiday spirits. And by that, I mean, hug your loved ones.
Simblr Gameplay Style Evolution
Rules:
Post two photos. One earlier gameplay photo (at the very latest would three months ago but preferably go even way back), and one of your most recent ones (within the past month).
The only restriction is they must be from the same game (so two TS2 photos, two TS3 photos, or two TS4 photos).
Tag 5-10 people once you’re done.
I got tagged by@daisydezem! Thanks, friend 🙂 I really love any excuse to go back to old screenshots, and I thought your post and a few others I’ve seen were super interesting!
Get ready for a long post…
So here’s the first picture:
First of all, that toddler? THAT’S TINY HANNAH.
TINY, TINY HANNAH. With her young adult mom Azalea. Good times. Anyone who’s been brave enough to read through over 400 posts remembers when Azalea and Hugo went on holiday in Granite Falls every chance they got? Is it any wonder Hannah basically spends her life in Selvadorada now.
I relied a lot on poses back then! They prompted the story forward for me even before I was fully sure I wanted to share them on any kind of blog. And I was already taking way too many screenshots, so I enjoyed being able to take staged ones a lot.
I still use them, but now it’s purposefully, for the blog, when I know there’s not really another way to convey the story with the means of the game alone. And still, when it’s not too specific, I try to go with game animations rather than custom poses.
Your girl got photoshop, for starters, so we get more advanced editing options than with my good ol’ Pixelmator. However, I’ve realized using them together is even better. See the little specs of light? They’re actually the same effect as the light in the top right of the first photo.
Hannah lost her glasses! It was only needed as a kid, and her eyesight got better. Apparently. She got a heck of a lot of hair in return. In the first picture, under that cute little hat, she had a super short cut. It was adorable.
Also, she got two younger siblings, and Hugo and Azalea got a few riddles. And more hair. And a beard. Well, Azalea got the hair and Hugo got the beard.
No more trips to Granite Falls either, which is a shame. Now I want them all to have family time in Granite Falls, especially now that Hugo and Azalea are elders… (yes, they’re very much elders in my gameplay now… So below the cut, have a spoilery picture :p)
Have you seen Cléo’s haircut?
Also why is Azalea wearing flip-flops in the sauna? And what’s up with Hugo and his own shoes? And look at all this grey hair! And the twins are adullllts! So much has changed I’m emotional.
