Egg Day Gnomes

I sleep through the afternoon and most of the night, and then, it’s Egg Day. It was never a holiday we particularly cared to celebrate, and the weather is cloudy, but I have a feeling this is one of the last holidays we’ll get to celebrate like this, all of us together under the same roof, so I pull out all the stops.

Including my prettiest dress and a rented cupcake machine. Egg Day is about pastries, and eating as many of them as you can, so a three-ton machine to produce muffins en masse is not a luxury.

And while my back is turned… a swarm of Egg Day Gnomes appears by the pool, their dead eyes staring, ready for whoever will dare bring us an offrand.

Welcome Home

The trees are back in bloom when Loladorada and I reach home again. Both of us are jet-lagged and too tired to appreciate the pretty harmony of pastels under the bright sunlight, but I can appreciate that there’s a bed in there waiting for me.

That being said, Lola is fascinated by the Egg Day decorations.

Absolutely fascinated.

Sims Ask Tag!

I saw someone do one of these the other day and I really wanted to do one too, and then @minntycream-sims, who can read my mind, tagged me 🙊 Thank you, love!

1. what is the first sims game you ever played?

The Sims! The first one, original flavor. I was about 11, it was 2008. One of the first times I got invited over to the house of the person who’d become my best friend in the world, she showed me this game she really liked. I’d watched cousins play it on the PSP before but it was the first time I created a family myself.

2. what is the first sims game you bought?

The Sims 4 ^^ I would borrow TS and TS2 from said best friend, then sometimes TS3 from another kind friend, but mostly play it with family members who’d bought it. In 2016, I hadn’t played the sims in two years and I a long summer ahead of me. Some ad for the gender update came up on Facebook, and it made me think I’d like to play that game again. It was on a huge sale when I finally caved, so I bought Base Game + Get Together + Get To Work + Dine Out

3. what is the last sims game you bought?

Get Famous! I have no shame and buy everything on release. I have no regrets either, they’re all a joy to play with, and GF is no exception!

4. what sims game are you currently playing?

MAINLY TS4, but I reinstalled TS2 in December, played it intensively, then uninstalled it, and am seriously about to reinstall it because Strangetown.

5. what is your favorite world?

San Myshuno. Brindleton Bay is a wonder to the eyes, and I love the warmth of Oasis Springs, but the city has a soul and a story and such distinctive neighborhoods, I just love it. It feels like a character itself. And it’s so cosmopolitan.

6. who is your favorite pre-made family?

Imma get really LGBTQ+ right here and say the Hecking household. I don’t play with pre-mades ever (except to woo and woohoo them), but I love the Heckings for being the first married gay couple shipped with an EP, for being so dang pretty, for their names (BRANT? BRENT? BRONT?), and of course THEIR DOG. Bonus points for actually witnessing their wedding in a trailer.

7. what packs do you wish you had in your game?

I have them all for TS4, so my answer is gonna be “the TS2 packs that simply don’t exist on Mac”. I wanna play Apartment Life!

8. who is your favorite sim you made?

As a hopeless legacy player I rarely “make” sims, and when I do I never love them as much as my heirs, so can I replace it with just my favorite sim ever? Cause that’s Hannah. I love Hannah. I love her personality, I love that unlike most of my sims she didn’t jump into anything romantic, I love her story (you ain’t seen nothing yet). Also she’s really pretty and that helps.

9. how many years have you been playing the sims?

Will be nine years in September I guess!

10. when did you start your simblr?

March 2018! Going to be my one-year anniversary soon whoop whoop!

Tagging @thelurgoyf  @scottishsimmer21 @justsimroarks ! If you want to, no pressure. And whoever else is reading this, if you feel like it, then I tag you too, Pikachu! ❤

The Treasure Room

Finally, I found it. The treasure room. It’s solemn and looks way too grandiose for its single chest sitting lonely square in the middle. But I’m sure it means its contents won’t disappoint…

They do not! Another diamond frog, two separate golden calendar plates, and oh, so many golden coins Loladorada could have stood at the bottom of the chest and I still wouldn’t have seen the top of her tail.

This opens up possibilities for me, so many possibilities. As I inspect the precious artifacts in my hand, I can’t help but go back, again and again, to those plans I had, those plans I made, but never quite dared to follow. This, this feels like the last push I needed. The reassurance that all can and will be right.

But in the meantime, I have to get home. It’s enough time spent in Selvadorada, and my little brother and sister have a birthday to celebrate.

Through the Temple like a Pro

image

Pitched the tent at night, mere yards away from the temple. One thing you learn from literally getting burned in this place, is that you’d better go in well rested. So as the sun touches the tent and the stone of the temple I wake up, ready to go explore it first thing today.

image

Totally ready for it — once I’ve fended off YET another electric firefly attack.

image

Inside the temple, as usual, I have to rely on my knowledge of omiscan culture and tastes in puzzle-making to clear my way through traps of fire, dangerous gases and, you guessed it, electricity.

image

The tests come in many forms, but fortunately, I’m really good at what I do.

One more door to clear, and I reach an antechamber. Not quite the treasure room, but in it sit two chests that look more than promising.

image

I slide their lids right off.

image

In the first one, I find an ancient relic! Well, a Chaos base for an ancient relic.

image

And in the other one…

A frog-shaped artifact covered in diamonds! And gold coins, many gold coins.

Fossils in the Clearing

Finally caught a fish I fell I can be proud of. 14.28 kilos of electric eel (is everything in this jungle electric?), so I decide to quit while I’m ahead.

It’s not like there isn’t much more to see in this area.

There’s treasures to find.

Treasures to dig up, as well.

Rare gems, and fossils.

It had been a while since the last time I mined anything, but the results are there! Some oddly-shaped fossils and bright fire opals.
