Bath Time

If you’ re going to give a dynamic toddler a bath, you’d better make yourself mentally prepared with some yoga before.

Up!

She’s bathing on top of the most beautiful city in the world, and she cares most about the bubbles.

Or more precisely, the worlds among the bubbles she imagines she’s exploring.

Time With Daddy

Hugo and Hannah are basically best friends now.

She says it’s funny how his mustache moves when he reads her stories. Gotta say I agree.

Yucky chair, happy toddler.

It’s good that they get along so well, because I haven’t been feeling so good.

My stomach hurts.

A Full Night’s sleep

Little Hannah is starting to get a grasp on how this whole schedule business works.

She’s not difficult at all anymore; she eats, then we take her upstairs to her bedroom, where one of us reads her a story.

And then she sleeps for ten hours, at which point one of us comes hear about the dreams that livened up her night.

To bed, missy.

She’s also able to go potty by herself, now!

Which we’re very proud of.

Goodnight sunshine.

Her magical, self haven.

Morning, sunshine!

Hannah and Nolan

We’re going back to the Spice Market to see Miranda! She just came back from her travels, and she has yet to see Hannah!

Hannah, however, is more interested in Miranda’s pets than her aunt.

Hip bump!

Somehow, Nolan doesn’t seem to have aged at all! His hair got redder, but apart from that, it’s almost as if someone has put his aging on hold and forgot to make him grow up.

According to Miranda, he’s the smallest kid in his class.

Though he’s quite a few years older than Hannah, they get along great.

Consider my heart warmed.

Family Cuddles

Hannah has a hard time letting her dad go to his occasional morning meetings.

Often, it just turns into all three of us hugging each other until she decides she’s good to say goodbye for the day.

To heck if I’m going to let them get all the hugs by themselves.

Mommy butts in.

Not the Best Yogi

Hugo’s getting more serious about yoga and meditation. He’s become pretty good!

So while I play with Hannah…

He levitates on top of the city.

Though he’s not reached the level of concentration necessary to forget how very far he is from the ground…

Why did he choose this spot?

Dinner by City Lights

When I tell you everybody comes to “help” us, I’m not kidding.

It takes me a while to realize they’re half here to help us, half just to see Hannah.

Not the best for Hugo and my self-esteem, but I’ve got to agree with them. This little kiddo is the most precious thing in the universe.

We’re eating fish Grandma cooked tonight!

Hannah loves it.

Through the window.

Hop! Off to bed.

Hugo’s coming to help put her to bed.

Little angel.

Toddler Days

Hannah aged up!

Oh, sure, now we have to deal with her being able to reach into the toilet bowl, and hear her complaining because she didn’t get a second slice of cake (because she’s her mom’s daughter), but you know.

It’s so much easier.

Now we have a lot of fun, the three of us. Playing stupid kids’ games that Hannah loves, watching fun movies as a family… And the soft moments, the hugs, the smell of her baby hair, the love we all feel each and every second of every day.

I’m still always worried to know if she’s okay, or comfortable enough, and if she’s still breathing in her sleep. So after I wake up in the morning, if she’s still snoring, with her tiny, gentle snore, I’ll come watch her sleep.

‘No, mammy! She mean!”

That’s Hannah’s idea of telling me the doll she gave me to play with his her favorite doll’s archnemesis.

Okay then. Guess I’ll have to take my meanest voice and go:

‘Well I don’t like your dress, Hannah!”

“But mammy, I wear pants!”

Implacable logic.

Not enough coffee in the world to deal with toddler logic.

This stupid black-and-white movie is captivating to Hannah. She never tires of it, and asks for it every single night.

It puts her to sleep around the 30-minute mark, so we don’t mind.

One day, maybe, she will see what happens at the end.
