Slices of Life

Life goes on, happy, and successful. Hugo and I are a team, and through the fights about finishing the jam (him) and the complaining about dirty bathtubs (me), we’ve become closer than ever. We’re two parts of a whole!

But I’ll keep eating all the jam

I finally got the huge promotion I was eyeing at work. I am now at the top, and most matters need my okay. I have an opinion on everything, and my expertise is renowned in the world of tech.

And yet I still live in the Spice Market, but what can I say, I love it here.

Mom, Grandma and I at my first Humor and Hijinks festival! We joined the Jokers, and it was a truly hilarious girls’ night.

I support Hugo in his streaming job, even when it’s as simple as supporting him through tough Dark Sims playthroughs. Gotta admit he’ s great at this.

And no, I never leave that turtleneck sweater anymore. It’s my uniform now. We all have our idols, okay?

I still love the simple act of putting laundry out to dry on our cozy little balcony.

We made sure said balcony would be even cozier. It’s the perfect place to get some energy back after a full day behind the screen, without actually leaving the flat…

Bowling Breakfast

We stayed up all night again, so we go to breakfast together while we’re there. Thankfully it’s the weekend, so we have all the time in the world.

The venue we pick for breakfast has a retro gaming area, and you can bet we make the most of it. Look at us four, being friends.

Ordering breakfast.

Come on Hugo, just admit you just stole a bite of scrambled eggs from me.

I don’t know what Charlotte and Shanna are whispering to each other, but Shanna giggles, and I feel like they were making fun of at least one of us.

And the venue also has bowling lanes.

And you know how we feel about bowling.

We’re still just as bad as five years ago.

On Top of the World

“You’ll lose touch with your friends after high school”, they said.

Well, we haven’t yet.

The more time passes, the more we realize that being an adult who actually makes money, and is moving upwards the social circle offers a LOT of partying opportunities. Granted, we can only make the most of these opportunities every so often, but oh, how the wait is worth it.

Tonight we’re partying at the lounge at the top of the world, and swimming above the buildings.

Why does no one else appreciate the awesomeness of a diving board.

Karaoke time! Marie is too cool for school, always was. Hugo is not a fan of her voice though.

Romain witnessing the awesomeness that is a best friends’ secret handshake.

Please let us believe we know how to sing, we’re having a great time.

Geeks

Hugo’s been able to skyrocket to a full-time, professional gamer. This does mean tremendous amounts of time on the computer, but I mean, I’m not one to talk. And I’m so happy he gets to work on what he’s passionate about.

“STREAM AT GEEKCON WITH MY WIFE’S GRANDMOTHER” racked in a lot of viewers.

To be fair Grandma is a badass gamer. She beat both of us at the Ultimate Gaming Test, and is actually starting to draw a small crowd to her.

Disheartened, Hugo and I decide to just go work on the rocketships.

Steamy Waters

How we never heard of the secret parties that happen some nights at the bluffs while we were teens is a mystery.

But we know about them now, so on one such night, the six of us, the Rascals all together again, we head to Windenburg and jump around to the music. Lasers at a historical ruins site is everything I never knew I wanted to see.

If you had told me about this night three years ago, I would have been hyped, shocked, and jealous of my future self.

Who is this person that I keep running into? I try to engage a conversation with her, but she doesn’t speak to me. Or anyone else. I feel like she’s not with her usual crowd tonight.

Night bath! I hog the diving spot again.

You know what’s better than a regular night bath?

Night skinny dipping.

It does give us some ideas…

There’s a party in a background, but Hugo and I find interest in another kind of party.

Thank Plumbob for the lush vegetation at the bluffs.

Now to get back to our clothes discretely.

Basketball in the Spice District

On a sunny afternoon, I drag Hugo outside of his gaming chair, and with total disregard for his “BUT MY STREAM SCHEDULE” cries, I drag his butt downstairs and challenge him to a basketball match.

‘Ready, darling?’

‘For Sports? Never! :)’

Truth is we both suck. I’m more in shape than my husband, but my aim is worse than his.

There’s the dude from the other day again! I forgot during the festival but today I absolutely tip him.

Hugo found comfort food. I found someone to make fun of my outfit. Thanks Charlotte, you’re my best friend as well.

Idea in Progress

I have this sensational idea, so I break out the saw and the tools, and my electronics knowledge from high school, and I get working on my project. The sun is setting over San Myshuno and the view is stunning.

It’s the perfect atmosphere to get inspired.

Laundry Day

It’s easier to find the motivation to do your laundry when your laundry room no longer looks like a dump.

And let’s be honest, we made the laundry room pretty darn cute.

The sound of the washing machine is loud, but the right kind of monotonous, and it covers every other outside sound. This along with the soft smell of soaps drives me to the laundry room when I want a peaceful place to think.

I usually read a book on top of the vibrating machine.

Today though, even though I did take one, my mind is elsewhere. It’s boiling with ideas.

Yoga Together

After days watching me do Yoga five hours a day, I’m proud to say that Hugo’s interest was sufficiently piqued to try and join my morning practice.

Granted, he’s not the flexible sim in existence. His downward dog leaves room for improvement, but at least he’s started, and that’s the most important step ❤

He’s got impossible core strength though. I have no idea how. The man’s a gamer, not a bodybuilder.

Honeymoon (Day 2!)

image

Hugo found a hobby. I was worried he would wilt and wither away from the computers, but he’s taken a liking to fishing, and he spends his second day trying to get us a very, very fresh lunch. I move my yoga mat to do my sun salutations next to him.

We don’t speak at all: he doesn’t want to bother the fish, I’m focusing on my breath. But just doing our thing next to each other has us happy.

Also, I do sneak some looks at him because watching a city boy struggle with a fishing cane is amazing.

Don’t mind the bear in the back, Azalea. Focus on your Warrior One.

image

… It’s not a real bear anyways.

Playing in the bath like a kid — I love these bath bombs too much.

image

Hugo walks into the bathroom — he has an idea in mind and it’s not the bath bombs.

I mean, it is our honeymoon…

The Granite Falls nights are a little chilly. Full jammies it is.
